A few Questions I couldn't find answered anywhere else. I am after a CF GPS unit to attach to an Asus Mypal 620:

1) I know I will need space to store maps and so forth, so these will have to go on to a CF card....but.... well if the GPS unit is in the CF slot, does this mean I must use the internal memory of the PDA (not much) or do these things have pass-through sockets for extra memory? The Mypal only has a single CF slot, and no bluetooth option.

2) Are there any duff ones I should avoid? I don't want to end up with the Skoda of the GPS world. It will mostly be used out and about rather than in a car, although if anything comes with a socket for external ariels, or even comes with one, that would be a bonus.

3) The smaller the better, its for the girlfriend.

4) Silver coloured would be an advantage

5) I have a £200 budget, although obviously the less, the better

6) Any recommended retailers who can get it to me well befor xmas are welcomed.

7) Are there any units which are generally considered the best choice? eg with graphics cards, you either pick nvidia or ati, anything else is pretty much specialised use.

You should seriously be looking into

a) improving your attitude (i could take the Skoda offense personal ;-)

b) getting a serial GPS receiver. This will free up your CF slot, and will give better reception, and there are some receivers available with a feel good look good factor like the Royaltek RGM2000 or the TomTom serial receiver (which is silver by the way)
