i was pretty much ignorinng the old version.. they cant still be making them and they will soon disappear..

the only real difference between the two "current" versions are the maps.. which u buy depends on whether or not u want europe in detail which includes GB or just GB plus major roads of europe..

the euro one will have a navteq GB map which might or might not be better than the teleatlas one..

i think the euro one is the better option it just costs more money.. considering the cost of extra map upgrades i think the price is about right..

exactly how do you access or navigate to these major roads as i have checked and there not shown or available Question am i missing something Confused
You navigate to a Place Name, Town or Village, and it will Navigate to the nearest Major Road.

Tried Paris it does not know it so being able to select a road is a non event also when on view map and zooming down on mainland Europe no roads are shown (all comments based on a TT1V3 Reginal UK)

Exactly my point but member BGF quotes the following

Quote:
The new silver TomTom ONE Regional @ £199 is the new version of the ONE, now being called V2 (but, we understand, more correctly referred to as V3). It includes street level mapping of only one region PLUS the Major roads of the rest of (what TT class as) Europe.

I have to confess that I may have made a MAJOR error here! I believed what I read on the TomTom site Embarassed Embarassed rather that basing my post on personal experience Exclamation Embarassed Embarassed

Quoting from this page.
Quote:
Door-to-door navigation in your region/country and cross border navigation to any town in Europe.
The latest TeleAtlas maps are installed on a SD card, allowing you to find your way to any address in your region and any town in Europe.
Also, comparing the pictures
and , it suggests there is a difference between the old and the new. I took it to be the difference between GB and GB_Plus TTN maps.

You have just hit the nail on the head, the only way you can be sure of anything is to find someone who has the actual hardware/software in question to double check. All too often the reality is different from the claims being made. Thumbs Up

Correct on all counts.
GB Regional has GB AND Republic of Ireland only.

PostPosted: Sun Nov 26, 2006 5:34 pm    Post subject: TomTom One Region Missing Roads !!!! Reply with quote

Anybody thinking of getting one of the new TomTom One Regionals, Sad
I replaced my original TomTom One with the newer Regional version only to find the new TomTom, despite having a later version of the map data, has many road names missing, including my own. The roads are there but are given the same name as a road next to them, not much good when you are trying to find an address !. After much emailing and telephone calls to TomTom ( they needed a lot of convincing ) they are as surprised as I was. They can now confirm that the new TomTom One Regional does in fact have far less road name detail than the original TomTom One. They will be in contact with their map supplier TeleAtlas to see what has gone wrong but they do not think there will be a solution in the short or even medium term. They have however checked the TomTom One Europe which has its map data supplied by Navtech and this does indeed have all the roads correctly named. They have advised me to return my TomTom One Regional to my supplier, and if I want one that works to get the TomTom One Europe.
