software is a year out of date. help please

jambojim - although you are correct that Garmin normally provide a period of free upgrades, it's not until after the new version is announced, which has not happened yet. I expect Garmin to "announce" v9 in January, so someone buying a unit today may not get a free upgrade.

I am running V7 and opted not to update to V8. Does this mean im entitled to version V9?

I have never had the update nag screen. I cant remember how long i have had the unit? does it automatically come up after a period of time? i hope not as it will be ver annoying Evil or Very Mad

Does it just come on at startup or when ur drving along Crying or Very sad

Thought I had better pop in and check - but I too am getting the Nag screen on a unit which I bought earlier this year. Looks like I am stuck with it for a while.....

I asked Garmin if I could defer the upgrade to Version 9 and was told NO and that it was a time limited offer as well.

Still worth contacting Garmin though as if enough people do the same, they may well relent.

Is there a fix yet to stop the "out of date maps" screen appearing, EVERY time I use the i3 I get this message, it's boring me now.... Evil or Very Mad
