Having just got my new ipaq 2210 which is the best system to use. Will mainly be used on a motorbike in and around central and northern Europe.

If Bluetooth which GPS?

Hi tjc,

if you want to use it for your bike tours then this probably means lots of intermediate steps and preference for samller, scenic roads? TomTom currently does not support waypoints (this may change in future releases), Destinator has a decent waypoint engine (you have to select them from addresses/POIs, not fromt he map). Both programs have features that allow you to avoid certain roads - TomTom even knows the London Congestion zone.

You will have to decide what's more important for you..

As far as the GPS receiver is concerned - yes, for the bike BlueTooth seems to be the best solution. The recent models are all pretty level - check out the hardware reviews on this site.

If you buy the Destinator package for the UK you also get the major roads within Europe, which the software can use to route you over country boundaries.

Currently with TomTom you can only route within a single country or country group. So a trip from Calais to Rome would not be automatically calculated.
