after disconecting from pc the tom tom fails to boot up keeps bringing the card with the x in in on placing my tomtom sd card in the card reader it wont read it strange that seeming how it was set to read only anyone got any idears before i smash it Twisted Evil

The TomTom doesn't take any notice of the read/write switch!

You may need to reinstall the system software. But make a backup of your map folder first!! It's the only copy you have!
