Against my better judgement, I decided to apply ALKs update.

Finally got it installed and confirmed as .68 (also new splash screen, colour scheme and "fleet" functionality - wasn't expecting that)

Anyway, I ran the demo (new route) and noticed no TTS commands.

opened up the speech settings and found I now had a choice (only ever got Roger before). I listened to the various voices and decided that either of the US voices was too "Stephen Hawkins-like", and Aussie Roger is the same as ours.

Ran the demo - no voices

Drove up the road - no voices

soft reset, no voices

Soft reset then choose the voice (again) - wahey, I get voice commands.

Next day, no voices. Soft reset, plus reselect from settings and they come back.

I can't be doing with having to select Roger in settings every time I want to make a trip - am I doing something wrong?

BTW, I noticed that the upgrade didn't install TTS then CP6 as the instructions said, just the CoPilot app (WM5). Can I check the TTS version

And finally - I STILL can't get camera warnings

I deleted all the old AO files, downloaded the CP6 single file camera update, changed the "@" to "AT" and renames it to "safetycamera.OV2" instead of "pocketGPS_UK_SC". I disabled POIs and set safety camera warnings to 500yds, but didn't see (or hear) one warning on a 300 mile round trip, despite passing at least 20 static cameras.

Any ideas?

The good news is that my previous satellite fix problems appear to have sorted themselves.

computers - don't you just love 'em?

I had a similar problem, and got around it by selecting an Australian Voice, re-starting the application, then selecting Roger, and all was OK.

Just don't ask for an explaination - I haven't got one!

PS it was repeatable, and I have spoken to ALK about it, who are fully aware of the problem.

Hi,

Unfortunately I am in the same boat as you and now only ever use the WAV speach - unless I feel daring!!

I too have contacted ALK who told me to send in the SD card and they would install and make sure it was all working ok - havent done that yet though.

What I am going to do (when i have time) is uninstall from PPC then follow the desktop data download path to get all the maps, TTS and POI's installed - and see how that goes!!

Matt
