Hot topic post values????

As the number of posts is presumably meant to indicate how hot a topic is, could someone please fix the totals.???

As new messages are added the total goes down??. Is it limited to 2 digits or something, because as an indicator to how hot a topic is, it is as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Last week the i3 version was at 67 posts, now we are in the 50s, again, probably for the second time.???

These are the hot topics of the day. if a topic does not consistently see posts then it will drop in the list. Look at it like at a sliding window.

The i3 firmware 3.20 has been at the top for quite a while, yet today the posts are 47, they were 50 something the other day.

Are you saying that as no posts are being made you deduct a value?

Surely the number of posts should be just that. If no more posts are made it will slowly drop down the list.
