Anyone got nstructions how to install the downloadable driver under Win XP?

If you mean the driver for GPSmart BT, this driver is for the proprietory USB to Serial cable for connecting the GPS to PC. You should unpack the files from the download to a directory, plug the cable into a USB port & when the PnP asks for a driver, point it to the directory containing the unpacked files. If the driver is already installed there is a removal app. included with the downloaded files which you should use first.
