Probably get more use as hands free phone rather than navigating so is there anything I should know before parting with my hard earned?
I have been using a Quest for navigating with an external antenna, am I right in thinking the connection is the same?
Thanks

Garmin list the same external GPS aerials for both units in the Accessories section, so I think it's fair to say they use the same connector.

The only thing I would say it that it's a very expensive handsfree unit - would it not be cheaper to get a Parrot car kit and fit that, keeping the Quest?

If, however, you are looking for a new unit, the Nuvi is a good choice (in my biased opinion), although I find the volume of the handsfree too low compared to the volume of the mp3 playback and navigation, so have to adjust the volume if driving out of town and I receive a call.

However, I don't like taking / receiving calls whilst driving, so normally average only 1 call per week via the Nuvi.

Was looking at a Parrot. Was quoted £175 fitted for the bells and whistles one, and I really can't be arsed trying to fit one myself Confused Handtec are doing the 310 for £257 so it's not really that much more. I don't use the phone too much, but if an urgent customer can't get me straight away they probably will phone someone else. The Nuvi (due to its size) will permanently mount to the van dash, under a overhang so cant easily be seen from outside, so I get constant hands free and for £80 more get GPS whenever I need it!

Hi, have you checked out the mio C510 / 710, both have bluetooth , excellent mapping and the volume is good. The C510 is around £210. The 710 with the traffic alerts is around the £310.
I have the C510 and the nuvi 360 and to be totally honest the mio wins hands down....except for the speedcams, they have their own which isnt as good as pocketgps, but this should be sorted soon, see the mitac threads for more info.

Call in somewhere if possible and check one out or check on the internet.

Regards....Dil

The Mio lloks impressive for the money. Is the interface as simple as the others, Garmin/TT ? Do the additional european maps offer street level routing in addition to the UK and main roads of europe pre installed ?

its not too clear from the various web sites
