What Operating System have you got on the PC?
What Software Version have you got on the 710?
Have you install TomTom HOME?
Any information, and as much as possible of it, will help us to know what is going on, so that we help you.;) _________________ Richard

Do you have a Card Reader? If so try the SD Card in that to see if it recognises it.
Also make sure the USB Plug is pushed in firmly at the 710 end, as some of the fittings are known to be tight. _________________ Richard

When you turn on the unit, does the unit ask you to connect to your computer? if it doesnt, the unit is not properly connect to the home dock. |

Reset the 710 - take it off the home dock turn it upside down and give the reset pin a prod with either a pin or paperclip, if you are unsure where the reset switch is please check the manual - IT IS NOT THE SMALL HOLE ON THE FRONT OF THE DEVICE, THIS IS THE INBUILT MICROPHONE.
Once reset and re-started, dock the unit and select connect to PC when prompted - Mike |

Is it HOME or XP that says it doesn't recognise the Device? What is the Full Text in the Error Message? _________________ Richard

Strange things happen with USB card readers (which is how the TT is seen by Windows) without at least SP1. You should have SP2 by now so get onto Windows Update and then see how you get on afterwards. If you've been caught out by the Windows Genuine Advantage Program and therefore can't update then you might be out of luck. |
