if you ever get caught going 159mph down the motorway or 80 in a 30 just tell them you were testing out your car. Just like a copper did where i live. He went to court and was found guilty and nothing happend to him, suprise suprise!!

Keep up at the back !!! That was obviously the case what I was referring to.

What on earth has a cop getting convicted for travelling at 159 mph and being given an absuloute discharge (whether you agree with that decision or not), got to do with where a sat nav should be mounted ?

It was brought up because of the post by chauf4, in which he said that if the police do something then others won't get in trouble for doing it.

I think you should be fine with you sat nav stuck to the screen in the bottom right hand corner because that is where the Surrey police force have their tomtom's mounted.

If it's good enough for them, then it's ok for all of us.

Others seem to believe that is slightly naive and use the case above to illustrate the point...

Perhaps, a lot. For travelling at that speed it should be mounted on a part of his anatomy where the sun don't shine. Laughing

I mount my ONE so it is directly above, and at the same focusing distance to the instruments. It is stuck to the area covered by the sweep of the wiper blades (but then so are the wiper blades!) but only obscures my view of the top of my bonnet. If I was much shorter there might be an issue.
