My GPS Slim 236 switches off when I charge it. Any external power (a mini-usb charger or PC USB cable) switches the unit off. Removing the battery makes no difference, it simply won't work from external power.
Is it faulty?
UK model, works perfectly otherwise. |

Mine still works when I plug it in to the power. Sounds like yours is faulty Try contacting Holux or the retailer and see what they say. _________________ Gone fishing! |

If I use my SPV C500 charger (either main or car), it turns GPS off on plug-on. But if I use the charger that came with 236, it works OK. Sad I have to take two car chargers (though they look similar:-( |

Mines the same, AND the usb charging lead supplied with my in car mount doesn't work either
It's a REAL pain, I have no idea why Holux chose to use non standard USB, but it's reason enough for me to avoid their products in the future. |

Indeed its the problem. The holux charger doesn't charge my HTC Wizard either.
What a pain, definitely a good reason not to buy the Holux. |

I think it is because it is trying to go into mouse mode when USB is connected - the USB port not only charges but is also used for communication with PC. However I agree this it should not disconnect bluetooth when a standard USB is plugged in. |
