Pete, I have been using this device for a while - I works just great, I have not run TomTom on it as yet, I have been using Route 66 (another car based navigation application), I have used Memory Map on it.
1 For in can usage the screen size is about as small as you can practically go to. any smaller would be too small.
2. For walking (Memory Map) it is a nice light weight unit, but this is where the screen size does hamper its capabilites - you can use it and it does work though.
3. GPS reception in the car and walking is great - but if you start the GPS with the PDA-n in its supplied leather/ metal case it will take ages to acquire a lock on, out of the case it locks on typically in under 10 seconds (then you can put it back in the case and it maintains the signal).
4. Battery life is good, typically around 4,5 hours on its own, but less if using the GPS Bluetooth or particulaly WiFi, its got a removable / rechargeable battery so you can allways carry a second battery. Or an external charger pack - the unit is powered via the mini USB connector.
5. Supplied accesories, quite a comprehensive array some of which you would normally have to pay extra for:
Leather carry case
Car charger Lead
Car Windscreen holder
Connection lead to PC
CD
Instruction book
Stereo headphones/ microphone
The screen size is not too much of a problem, the screen is very clear displaying vibrant colours with a good contrast level and high brightness - very impressive, I which my Ipaq-4700 had this degree of quality display.
In all try and have a look at one if you are still unsure, but for the price I think the PDA-n is a great unit. - Mike

Many thanks for the response which I will digest on the train this afternoon.
Screen size concerns me a little having got used to large screens with a Holux and Mio PDA over recent months. That said if I stay with TT and want an integrated GPS I dont have many other options
