Hi All,
I have a small issue with my TomTom 510 and connectivity to the TTHome application.
From what I read, you can use your TT Home to plan your route.. so that's what I did, connected up the TT Go 510 to my PC, fired up my PC, and prepared a route.
Turned off the TT Go 510, undocked it, switched it on and all the settings disappeared. I have to start from the basic, i.e. select Language, Select Voice, there is no route there (the one that I had planned from the PC).
So the question is, is this a normal "feature"?
P.S. Not sure if this is applicable or not, but I have checked to see if the SD card is not write-protected. I can certainly write to it.
TIA... _________________ ===============================

Unfortunately, If I try that, the whole TomTom freezes up and I have no option but to press the "reset" button to bring it back to life.
I normally switch of the device using the On/Off button. Turn the device off, undock the TomTom Go and then switch it back on.
By then, it's forgotten the route.
Any other suggestions? _________________ ===============================

Do you also switch it off on the Virtual Device first, on the PC Screen?
I can only re-create your problem if I turn the Device off first. This then acts as a Reset and you lose any Route set in the last session. _________________ Richard

Thanks for the reply old boy..
Nope, don't turn it off on the virtual device setting.. it only freezes when I click on "My Device" then Disconnect Device.
Just tried clicking it off from the virtual device first (on the screen picture) and then clicked on Disconnect Device.. well, for starters, that has not frozen my TomTom.. and guess what, undocking the device, re-powering it up, it has retained my Route.
Nice 1 chaps.. the above guidance has been gr8.. and finally know how to turn my TomTom off..
Just a bit of a nuisance having to turn off from the Virutal Device and then disconnect .. not may peeps wud have realised that.. not really something that is mentioned in em instruction booklets.
Thanks very much for helping me sort this out. _________________ ===============================

Er, Help me here .... virtual device on screen??? WHERE.
First time I docked, updated then closed my new TT510 the same thing - screen freeze.
So everytime you disconnect the device (Can someone please advise the CORRECT way of connecting and disconnecting in one line idiot format ...for me) you have to go through the rigmaroll of resetting language, voice, time etc etc etc .... surely not!!

When HOME starts up, in the left panel is a list of options. At the bottom is More ..., and your Device should be listed.
If you click this icon, it will open the Virtual Device on the PC. If it is the first time you have done this, it might say that you need to download a needed plug-in.
To switch on the Virtual Device Mouse Click the On button, where the Red Arrow points.
You now have the Device on the PC, using the mouse instaed of your finger.
To disconnect, and switch off, click the button on the Virtual Device to write the latest information to the Real Device, and then Click the My Device Icon, at the bottom of the Window, to disconnect safely. _________________ Richard

Thanks Richard, had not noticed it before as it was 'greyed out' HOWEVER when installed on my desktop (OK on laptop) when I start the 'virtual' it freezes the desktop and will NOT close down by any conventional method ... it's a hold the main button in to close down it all down jobbie ..... tried a removal - re-install Nuffin!! 8O
