I notice that there is now a BETA download of the speed-cam database for TomTom Home.
I can't seem to find any information about this method, and wonder if anyone could point me in the right direction please? _________________ Regards

Trevor, you are correct there is a TomTom Home compliant database format available for test puposes, there are some instructions HERE no doubt more detailed ones will follow, I tried this the other day on my 910 and it works just fine:
1/ Connect the TomTom device to the computer via the home dock. The TomTom Home application should start automatically if not, start the program from the normal Windows START/ Programs method.
2/ In the TomTom Home application click “Preferences” Advanced tab.
Make a note of the file address where the line details “Extra Content”.
3/ Download the Beta Test Download camera file and unzip the contents to the location identified in step two above.
4/ In the TomTom Home Application, click the install to TomTom icon, which is located under the “Manage your TomTom” banner.
5/ Points of Interest should now contain a heading of “Pocketgpsworld.com speed cameras speed zoned files (Note this later part describing the specific file set you have downloaded may differ depending upon what you have downloaded).
6/ Simply check the tick box adjacent to the Pocketgpsworld.com speed cameras and then click the large green arrow entitled “Install” at the top of the page.

I have a TT GO 700, which I have just updated to the new version 6 software using HOME.
I then decided to update the camera database so I subscribed and started working through the download pages.
Question 1 - I take it I should select "Tomtom HOME" rather than "Tomtom OV2", correct? What's the difference?
Question 2 - I take it that the best selection from the three available is "UK - Speed Zoned Complete (BETA)"
After much frustration, during which I found that Firefox will not download the camera database file but IE will, I downloaded the UK - Speed Zoned Complete (BETA) and unzipped it. I found 6 files inside it, one of which was "pocketgpsworld speed zoned files.cab".
Question 3 - Am I correct in thinking that it is only the contents of the "pocketgpsworld speed zoned files.cab" folder which needs to be placed in the My Docs / Tomtom / HOME / Content folder, rather than all of the 6 files I downloaded?
I went to place the contents of the .cab folder into the Content folder, only to find that the Content folder did not exist, soI created it and put all the bmp and OV2 files in there.
On restarting my Tomtom HOME application, the files that I put in the Content folder are not visible. Under point 5, you say that Points of Interest should now contain a heading of “Pocketgpsworld.com speed cameras speed zoned files". They're not there.
Question 4 - What's going on?
Question 5 - Would it be better to simply download the Tomtom OV2 file? If I do that, is it then just a cut & paste opetation to transfer the bmp and OV2 files to my Tomtom?
thanks a lot for your help

3. In HOME Click File | Preferences | Advanced, Under Extra Content you will find a Folder on your PC Entered. This will be HOME's default, unless you change it.
This is where you place the CAB File and the TOC File.
Next, in HOME, at the Top of the Middle Window Select All Sources. The Points of Interest will appear.
Tick the Option Box and then Click Install. _________________ Richard

Iank wrote: | I can use it to download the BMP & OV2 files ok. | If you mean download from web site to your PC, and you're talking about the PocketGPSWorld camera database, I think you'll find that you can't! _________________ Jock
