I have just downloaded the replacement data.chk file for my tomtom one.
I have version number 5.450 and I downloaded new version no 5652.
I renamed the olf file with an '.old' extension, and renamed the new file to data.chk.
The problem is that on reboot the device freezes on the 'splash screen', and will not recodnise the off button. Subsequent resets produce the same result, and the only cure is to restore the 'old' data.chk file.

Any ideas?

Do you have File Extensions hidden in Folder Options?

Thanks, but no.
Actually I discovered the problem. I took the version number before I connected to the internet. Then without thinking I allowed TomTom Home to update the receiver, not realising that this would change the version number.
So I am now on version 6, and obviously this will require a different data.chk file, and I didn't discover this until this morning when just by chance I noticed!
I haven't tried again, but will do so tomorrow and I am sure it will work OK........
