I have one...also own a RoadpilotMicro Go and Roadpilot Pro.

The Indic8tor is a nofrills unit, works extremely well, locks-on quickly and despite its limited display, provides quite a bit of info. The display compared to the other two which we own, is far easier to read in bright condidition. Out of the box, it knew about my local Mobile scamming site, which the other (more expensive ones) did not. The 500 user-programmable locations work well also, with voice confirmation of saving/deleting. User programmable speed warning is good too.

Also has a "proper" rotary volume control on the side.

Downsides......not many

1/ Speed display reverts to clock when stationary, changes to speed at 5mph

2/ User prog speed warning only available in 10mph incrememnts

Thats about it...well priced, does-exactly what it says.

Looks like a neat enough unit, but it's fairly expensive at £100 + £30/year for updates.

You can buy a Garmin i3 Sat Nav for about £100 and subscribe to the database here for £19.

I guess the Indic8tor would appeal to someone who just wants a detector and none of the fuss of a sat nav.
