But as we’re losing ad-revenue from this then why not make a donation towards website running costs?. Or you could disable your ad-blocker for this site. We think you’ll find our adverts are not overbearing!

Gentlemen, as has been explained already, these forums are intended for the discussion of GPS and related matters only. Whilst the occasional off topic comment is overlooked you should remember that every post results in an email to all those watching and most do not want to pay a visit here merely to find the raft of frivolous posts, off topic rants and banal retorts witnessed here and in other threads by certain posters.
Eldar has our whole hearted support and I can see no evidence that his moderation of threads has been over zealous or heavy handed. Indeed he has been remarkably restrained considering some of the responses.
This site is by and large self policing and I'm pleased to say we rarely have to intervene in threads. However, clearly some of you have assumed some unintended personal affront as a result of threads being locked for wandering far off topic and have seen fit to persist in authoring frivolous posts which certainly appear to be attempt to either goad or berate the moderators.
Please let this be an end to the matter, we all have the occasional sense of humour failure but enough is enough. _________________ Darren Griffin

If you carry on with this discussion here I will remove your message and lock this topic.
This bothers me. If a moderator can take this attitude and delete the posts of members who disagree with his point of view then it makes me wonder how many posts have been deleted that i've never seen.
I start to lose faith in the forum as an area for discussion.

You have selectively quoted without referring to the reason for that statement which was as you know in regard to continued off topic posts.
Discussion of GPS and the GPS manufacturers, good or bad is acceptable, off topic rants and personal attacks against the Staff and members of the Moderator team is not.
Where we resort to deleting posts we endeavour to say so to the avoidance of doubt.
As this topic was started to discuss what Navigator 6 PDA might entail and in light of the announcement yeterday about its release I feel we have reached a natural conclusion and so this topic is now locked. _________________ Darren Griffin
