Pocket GPS World is a misleading name. I think it should be called "GPS World" or the like.

The word "Pocket" in the title suggests that this site is exclusively for GPS on Microsoft's PocketPC product line. My first encounter with links to this site in google caused me to avoid this site for a while.. until I noticed a pattern of Palm related articles on this site getting google hits. People with good taste in technology will have a natural distaste for almost anything Microsoft, so the current name serves as a deterrant to potential visitors who may not realize that the site is broader in scope.

Thanks for your comments. By now, PocketGPSworld is a pretty well established brand, and it works for the majority of users.

If you look around the site you will see that the vast majority of users are PND users - those use Linux and - o gosh - Windows CE. None of which is "pocket"

Just imagine you would start disliking "Google"

I didn't mean to imply that the site is Microsoft centric. I think it's a wonderful site that gives good coverage of all GPS products. I just meant to say that the name makes it appear Microsoft centric, so those who don't know what the site is like may judge it by its name.

I think a name change would not cause any kind of disruption. The owner would of course keep the www.pocketgpsworld.com domain name, since it is established, but simply have it forward to a new domain name.. or vice versa.
