Hi Guys
I think I may have broke my TomTom Go Classic
I was attempting to add voice warings for gatsos and had got as far as


1. Connect your Tom Tom to your pc as above.
2. Rename (i.e. mine is gwdata.chk)
3. On the CD open the ‘Real Voice Camera Warnings’ folder.
4. Open either the ‘Male’ or ‘Female’ folder.
5. Copy the file that corresponds to your firmware version from the ‘Male’ or ‘Female’ folder to your desktop.
6. Rename this file to ‘data.chk’ and copy to the Tom Tom root folder.
7. Turn off your Tom Tom.
8. Disconnect the Tom Tom from the USB cable.

When I have turned TomTom back on, nothing happens, it is stuck on the opening splash screen.
I have tried resetting, taking out the SD card, also the unit is no longer seen in My Computer.

Any ideas guys.

Try removing the offending file from the card, then re-name your original file back to data.chk then try and re-boot the machine, if this works have a look at THIS Page and try a file from here, make sure you get the correct file for you device, check the software version as explained on the linked page, where did you get the "CD" from e-bay per chance? - Mike
