Guys - just having a quick look at that page, I'd be VERY careful about using Miosync with the PGPSW database onboard.
Make sure that you understand that it is telling you to fill your Miosync fields with nonsense in order to prevent the upload of the db to MIO.
Like it has been said several times before - if the MIO db gets updated with the one from here, we're all gonna be screwed.
Also, I see no advantage in using that software (well maybe its prettier!) over the one described in this thread - the newest version of which won't work with miosync on your computer |

Hi rondun
As we have said before, the only safe option is to UNINSTALL MIOSYNC (yes I'm shouting from the rooftops) before you even start to install PGPSW's database, then there can be no fear of accidentally uploading of this database.

To all in this forum. Thanks very much for the help on how to install and excute the speedcam DB from the PGPSW site on the Mio C710.
To tell the truth I nearly gave up on it all and didn't use the Safety Cam feature at all. I'm glad that there are nor persistance people out there than myself.
Couple of issues, (not sure if they have been answered elsewhere on this forum)
1. Do we have a fix for camera direction.
2. Once you are alerted by the the unit of a cam nearby, how do youstop the annoying overspeeding noise. (apart from slowing down)
Couple of other issue (would be gratefull if someone could point me to the right forum for these)
1. I have removed the line from the sys.txt file to allow the fast flyover but how do I get the normal fly over. (If i press the flyover button it defaults to fast flyover)
Thanks alot again for all the help. |

In answer to your questions:
1. No. The PGPSW data desn't have direction. (although I note that they ask for direction on new cameras submitted, so perhaps that will come in time). But it's no worse than other devices that don't have a direction facility at all.
2. You have answered your own question.
Can't help with the flyover - I haven't changed mine.

Just trying to update my speedcam with the latest from PGPSW by running Miomap_v3-autovelox_updater-v3.3.exe again. It says it's created the poiupdates.upd but I can't find it. Where is it located? I've forgotten. _________________ Reg |

There appear to be some file in the pdi folder already
no_40 to no_80, not entirely sure what they are. |
These are just example files. The help file explains that if you name your files similar to these then the speed limit value will be extracted from the filename and saved in the POIUpdate.upd file.

This is what ervius has to say:
Quote: | fixed_cameras_30mph.asc
fixed_cameras_40mph.asc
fixed_cameras_50mph.asc
theese are the pdi cathegory of autovelox!!
ename all asc files in:
fc_30.asc
fc_40.asc
fc_50.asc
the limit will be the 4th and 5th characters of file's names (and the 6th, id there is if not the dot will be deleted by it when it transform string ''40.'' in number ''40.' it will became '40'; or string '120' in number '120'
so, if you have i.e. mobile_cameras-80mph.asc, it must be renamed:''mc_80.asc''
so, if you have i.e. mobile_cameras-110mph.asc, it must be renamed:''mc_110.asc''
this is the only way to tell my program witch is the limit speed!!
''xx_60.asx" or "xx-60.asc" or xxx60.asc", ok simple!!!
you can also rename asc file in xx060-fixed-cameras.asc (xx120-fixed-cameras.asc), important that 4th,5th and 6ht indicate the limit; if munis than 100, you have to add a '0' before speed '080','090','100'
then put them in first listbox (Autovelox tipo ''1'' that are '' fixed_cameras'')
ok??, then you will have database with exact velocity limits!!!
Bye!
P.S.: for english language, I think in this afternoon, or later,The country selection is important, becouse inside the mm3 database, every map is signed by a byte, for italy is 05, for france 0F, so, if you insert autovelox, but not specify a country, or a wrong country, you will never see the cameras!!
ok!!!
See you later, bye!

Thank you for you reply but i have 1 more question.
Does anyone know how to increase / decrease the warning distance for the speed cams?

No. I find that the warning distance is quite long enough for me.
