I haven't tried this yet, so I don't know the answer.. Hence me asking Smile

If I put PGPSW's cams on there, how does it know my cam_40.asc files are named so that the 40 means 40mph not 40kmh. Does it work it out itself?

Thanks

This is very clever software, the orientation of the arrows corresponds to the orientation of the map and the road on which the speed camera is located.
If you edit the same camera with the road hoizontal on the map then you get horizontal arrows, if you edit it with the road vertical then you get vertical arrows and of course all variations between.

Regards

Hi Roger.
That's just it, I don't.
If I'm actually on the road with the map showing the road running vertically, I only get the option of horizontal or 4 way arrows.

However, what I have found now is that if I delete an original camera and 'add cam' in the same place the orientation of the arrows is then correct.
This is weird. Confused
Still, it's no big deal getting warned in both direction as most of the other sat nav's out there warn you in both directions anyway, and you don't get the choice.
It's a nice feature, just needs to work properly.

As Sallyann says it would be nice to think this is a temporary solution but in the meantime I'm still one happy bunny. :D

To darthpaul.
It seems to work it out by itself for the mph settings, (probably from the country selection).
Works a treat.

Once again thanks to all for your help.

It works it out itself depending on the location of the speed camera.

Hmm! It worked fine for me although I only tried it with the fixed and redlight categories when I compiled the POIUpdates.upd file.

I wonder if there is any difference between the Updater Software, the link I posted previously was for version 3.3 Final whereas the link at the beginning of this post is for version 3.0 ? Confused

Hi to all.

To linknet.
Just for the record, I and others, were experiencing this 'direction arrow' problem before we ever used this software.
Must be a Mio thing. Confused
I had emailed Mio about this when I first discovered the problem, but that was before I knew that they didn't answer their emails. Evil or Very Mad

To linknet again.

Found it.
Someone else with the same problem, before this software came to light.

CeeJay

So its not the update software, could it be that the cameras you are editing are near a junction and MioMap is selecting the intersecting road by mistake ?

Hi linknet.

Some are, some aren't.
As I mentioned earlier, the problem seems to rectify itself if I delete the original camera and 'add cam' in the same place, all direction arrows are then shown in the correct orientation.
This is weirdness of the highest order. Confused

CeeJay.

You could try posting your problem on the iGO Developers forum here:

http://my.pdamill.com/index.php

This will initially look like a games only forum, but if you register, login and scroll down you will find the iGO 2006 (ENG) forum.

AFAIK the iGO incarnation doesn't have support for speed cameras - this was something added to the Mio version of the software.

That's correct, but the iGO developers added it and Mio questions are being asked and answered on this forum.
