I previously posted in the "Newbies" section and received a really helpful reply. I have now spent many a (confusing) hour browsing various internet sites checking prices but mostly these forums researching views / news / possibilities......... So - I am now about to spend some money Rolling Eyes
One final plea for assistance........
I have settled on an iPAQ 2790 with TomTom 5 (UK Maps)
I like the idea of a seperate bluetooth Global Sat BT 338 - is this compatible with TT5 ???
I have not worked out which "In Car Mount" would be best............... help please ?? (charge both iPAQ and BT 338 ??)
I am still unsure which "off road" software would work best with the above combination (iPAQ + BT338)

And just in case I've completely lost the plot ............ any reasons why I should NOT go for the above combination ??

Lastly - sincere thanks to all those who offer advice and guidance. This is probably the best forum I have experienced over all the years I have been using them. Much Appreciated

:D

Hi Kane

Glad you've found the site useful - I sure do.

Works with mine just fine - absolutely no issues at all.

The battery in the 338 lasts 12+ hours between charges - no real need for in-car charging.

Can't help with the off-road software, but check out Anquet and Memory Map. Plus, you'll need a means of keeping the battery in the iPaq alive - doesn't last long off-road without external power.

Good luck!
