Apologies for the re-post, but this was buried at the end of a 3 page trail and didn't really go with the original subject line:
Quote: | There's a bug with it, thanks for the "bug-report". Only way for fast flyover is to remove this line from the sys.txt: "slow_sim=1". It'll "fly" about 500-1000 km/h without voice guidance - no need to time it, quite a difference.
The fast flyover, apart from eye-candy, was meant to check your route a little further, let's say, at a red lamp. For overview there're better ways, like "fit to screen", and the itiner as well. fable |

Hi all
I finally got some bluetooth connection with the PC (with bluesoleil)and saw the file sys.txt as:-
[debug]
smart_2d=1
slowsim=1
loop_sim=1
;log_tmc=1
so I changed the offending line to :-
;slowsim=1
then I save it(text pad)--go out---see the sys.txt again--it's back to normal !(as it initially was)
i.e. what I saved , was ignored.
I deleted the complete line--saved--went back in again--it's still there
I have also deleted the line--saved in note pad--soft reset(with a pin)--come back to see the file--all's intact
I am still on the trial version of bluesoleil , I want to test it before I buy, but I think that should not be an issue, since even the trial version has a 5meg data limit and afaiks, I am not transferring any data.
anyone any idea as to what am I doing different here |

I notice though that when it gets to the end of the route it starts again which I'd rather it didn't. _________________ Reg |

So with the Mio can't you just hold the "Main menu button" whilst tapping "Fly Over" to change the simulation from slow to fast as detailed in the help file ?
With iGO this works in reverse and changes the simulation from fast to slow. The line "slowsim=1" reverses this to be similar to the Mio.
Regards

Hi Roger
Although the help file & manual says you can, there is a bug -- see the quote from fable (of iGo) at the top
This edit is the fix
Hopefully when version 3.2 is released, this will be sorted...

Hah!! Should have noticed that
Wonder why that's the default? Can't imagine that anyone would want auto repeat on. Thanks Alex. _________________ Reg |
