My father in law is getting my old 3760 and PCMCIA sleeve since I have now upgraded. The only thing is, I'm not sure where to mount the PDA in his car. He has an Omega Elite '99 model. The criteria are as follows:

Must not obstruct vents/controls
Doesn't fancy a windscreen mount
Can't drill into permanent bits of the dash
Cables must be as unobtrusive as possible

I thought about a Dashmount phone bracket but I reckon this could get in the way of clumsy passengers...

Anyone got any ideas?

Really the Dashmount will be his only alternative, or a cup holder mount.

Personally I would go with a vent mount, it won't obstruct the circulation of the vents, you will still get hot or cold air out of it, even if he has climate control and will be fine.

I thought that the Dashmount idea was a good one, but way too expensive, since its just a small piece of metal. So I made my own using a small piece of aluminium I had in the garage, only took me about 15 minutes to cut, bend, file, drill holes and attach cradle (for my mobile phone).

Now I have a Dell Axim with TomTom, I will make myself another bracket to attach this to the dashboard.

All you need to do is have a small gap (next to radio or air vent etc), screw bracket into dashboard (not visible when radio etc is replaced.
