I have heard that there are different versions of MioMap software on C510 and C710. On my C510 it is version 3.0, but I have read about version 3.11 and possibly other 3-versions as well. Is 3.11 a newer version of 3.0 or is it just for a different product?

Hi Ian,,
the first C510s i received had v3.0 loaded. The unit i received about one and a half weeks ago shipped with v3.11 dated May 26 2006. The only difference is that v3.11 has the TMC software included and the main menu button on the side of the unit actually functions as per the manual states it should ie when pressed in the cockpit, map or route info screens, you jump to the main menu screen. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your info, Ultrax! Would it be possible to update the software through Mios web site, if they they release the update for download?

Hi Ian,

if you got a copy of the MIOMAP v3.11 disc, you would be able to load it onto the C510 no probs. As for waiting for MIO to put out an update on their web site, i think you might collect your pension first. To the best of my knowledge they have never issued updates for any of their products. I have also read that C510 owners who have purchased the TMC bit of kit cannot yet use them as they arrived without software and their units had v3.0 loaded. They have been promised software in the near future.

Regards

I've looked at the Miomaps CD that came with my 510 but can't tell which version of Miomaps it is. The GB maps file is dated 15th April 2006.

Yes, my GB map is also dated April 15. I think the maps are exactly the same in software version 3.0 and v. 3.11. It is just the menus and stuff that are different.
