I agree with you. The unit attached to the mount is unportional. I hate the shaking site Confused

What use (apart from sticking to the windscreen and holding the TT300 in place) is the mount?

Is it simply a means to secure the unit? It fell off my windscreen so many times I resorted to using BluTak to secure it to my dashboard and left the mount in the glovebox, and it has performed no worse than when attached to the mount!

I think TomTom is now offering new mounts for the 910 to anyone who needs one, no questions asked. Also, make sure that they are clicked all the way in. Double checking that has helped a lot of people.

unfortunately they do ask questions now - I tipped off a friend about getting a new mount before his went and they asked him to fax in proof of purchase and send the old mount back.

Have you actually connected the unit correctly? - it takes a considerable push down with the unit to lock the device into the mount, there will be two clicks as it locks home on to the car dock (you only get a single click on the home dock, as the unit doesn't lock to it) - Mike

TomTom must have remodelled the home dock also, mine sounds two clicks when docked and even with a vigorous shake the dock stays attached to the device.

I received my new mount from TomTom the other day. I have noticed it is slightly more difficult to dock it than before. I didn't suffer the "droops" Wink before as I normally let the unit rest on the dashboard, but in the interests of science I tried it raised off the dash slightly, and it still bounces around so much I could hardly see it.

I am of the opinion of a lot of others that the 910 is just tooo heavy for the mount Sad ( I do hope Brodit, or some other manafacturer will come up with a dash mount that incorporates the new ball!!)

On the subject of actually obtaining a new mount, when I rang them, they just asked me for my email address so that they could check that I had registered my new machine, and that was all they wanted to know.

I also suspect there will be less problems with the mount as the weather gets colder. It's a good job that TomTom released when they did or people maybe wouldn't of spotted the problem in the cold.
