It just sits on the splash screen.
Have you tried the pin-in-the-hole trick? Hold it in for several seconds.

i have a similiar problem with my Tomtom ONE
except that i by insterting a sd card that had tomtom natvigator that is designed for pocket pc's.
a different splash screen poped up and a sound played then my display frozed up.
i tryed restarting several times ... i would still get the frozen display ... like when windows goes on malfunction .... green lines everywheren, nasty
then i found out about the reset button i used a pin to reset it.
the screen now is pure white with no info going on.
its like dead meat.
i tryed restoring the original card , no use Sad
i tryed updating the card itself coz the device is not seen by windows Sad((
i might need to reflash the device.
can anyone help me do that

We do not condone the use of pirated or otherwise unlicenced software in any form. As your issue has arisen from such use then you should contact TomTom and hope they are understanding. Please desist from asking for help in this matter here.
