Didn't know if this was the right place to ask about this.

I've got an HTC Alpine, aka the O2 XDA Exec.

I turn on the screen and button lock with the power button before I put the device in my pocket.

However, when I press it again to wake the device it takes around 10 seconds after the screen turns on before the device will respond to anything. This includes pressing the start menu, any of the icons, etc. - not tried the hardware buttons. If I press the start menu before this time is up nothing happens until after the time has elapsed, then my action is carried out.

It also has the same effect when the device falls asleep of its own accord.

Can anyone think why it is taking this long before it responds? I don't have any running programs on it, I've got 25MB program memory free, 9MB storage memory free and a 1GB Corsair 40x SD card, I use SPB Pocketplus, Backup and GPRS monitor but they are just today plugins. I have also done the registry tweak to remap the backlight button. Other than that the device is as it came out of the box.

Anyone?

Hmmph, seems I can't edit my posts. Is it possible that you could please edit Universal into the topic title and my message, then remove this reply? Thanks.

I think I already did shortly after I set it up for the first time, I don't see any O2 stuff here anyway.

With regards to my problem I think it is an actual problem as opposed to it just running slowly - it hasn't always ran like this.

Update:

I have checked and there is no O2 stuff installed.

I have removed each program since from before I noticed it happening and it seems to still happen. I have also tried removing the remap of the backlight button and the plugin I had to show the clock on the taskbar but none of these things solve the problem.

Also, it seems the problem doesn't happen all of the time - more like 75%.

It is still incredibly annoying because if I want to call someone or answer a call I have to sit and wait a while before I can.
