hard reset and registry

hi all
can anyone tell me if the registry reverts back to factory condition when you carry out a hard reset or do the entries hang around waiting to reappear?
I'm getting fed up with my ipaq misbehaving so I want to kill it off and start again.

Thankfully everything including the registry goes back to square one.

i have been having trouble with the bluetooth radio not starting. I have pocket plus and pocket breeze running as plug ins and have seen a few posts here and elsewhere about memory allocation problems being behind this.
I have done the delete the TTGPS mod and continually have to keep soft reseting to get the bluetooth to work. some times 6+ tries. I have noticed that my success rate increases greatly if I pop the SD card out when I do the reset. Not sure if this is true or just me imagining it. I have tried starting up in safe mode with the plugins disabled but this doesn't seem to make much difference.
long trip away coming soon so I want to hard reset, re-install Tomtom and leave everything else until I get back.
