Hiya,

This is my first post. :D

I recently purchaced the Holux GR-230 and saw that the two chargers in the package has USB ports as connectors. I also got this "PALM USB Hotsync cable" that I use when I want to do quick hotsyncs or to re-charge my PALM TungstenT from my laptop.
My question is if someone actually tried to connect the end of the Hotsync USB cable to the Holux chargers to charge their PALM? That would save me the extra $35 that the original car adaptor form PALM cost (it looks awfully similar to the Holux car adaptor, doesn´t it: http://www.dustin.se/default.asp?ORIGIN=Shopping/ProductDetail.asp?PID=5010051310)

The current is right and the amps is more than enough (850mA for the car charger and 1.0A for the wallsocket charger, while the palm only needs 500mA) but the only thing im concerned about is the pin configuration. So anyone has any idea if it works?

Ok, to answer my own question....

Yes it does.
I did some research on the net and found a page showing the pin configuration of the palm tungsten ( http://www.palmos.com/dev/tech/hardware/palmhardware/ ). Then I used a summer to be sure that the same pins were powerd as when the hotsync cable were connected from a usb port from a computer. SOoo, im pretty glad that I don't have to invest in another 12V car adaptor to my palm. Smile

But to sum up; if you are interested in doing the same then do it at your own risk!
