I notice from http://www.radardetectors.co.uk/snooper_s6_neo.htm that the Snooper seems to have both the radar and laser detector options available now (as opposed to the Origin b2 where the radar unit isn't available yet).

However, that website really doesn't provide a good review - is this product planned for a review here?

We have no immediate plans to review it but may do in the near future if we can get hold of a loan unit from them. Currently we've really based our reviews around hardware based GATSO detectors, but can and will expand this if the need arises.

Ah, but this is a hardware (GPS) based GATSO detector in the same vain as the Origin b2 - if you look at the second table at http://www.radardetectors.co.uk/radar_detector_comparison.htm, you'll see the unit is comparable to the other GPS based units.

Would this product be better valve to the Origin b2 because of the extra 99 cost of laser dectection on the Origin b2

I don't know, as I haven't seen a decent indepdent review of the unit Wink

However, a couple of things spring to mind:
- It doesn't support using a different cradle to allow the GPS signal to be passed to a PDA
- It's not come from a company dedicated to providing a camera database, and therefore unless they are using one of the main companies for their actual database, how reliable will they be (although being Snooper they might actually end up with the largest market share in time)

Just to clarify that the 99 is for the laser 'defeater' which blocks the laser unit, laser detection is included as standard.

I have tried a few times now to obtain an S6 for review without much success but I will hammer awawy until I do. It's main failing is not providing a GPS out to drive a PDA.

Whats the rader one then?

Optionally a radar detection unit will be available as an upgrade later in the year for 99.95. Order now to be one of the first to own this latest equipment!

It's a 'grey' area. There is no law in force that prohibits the purchase or installation of such a device but a motorist was prosecuted in Feb this year for 'Perverting the course of justice' by using one.

The 'idiot' in question had been taunting Police by speeding past them and had been observed speeding on seven seperate occasions, each time officers were unable to get a reliable speed reading. He was caught after they stopped him and inspected his car. The moral here is if you use a laser defeater then be sensible. They're intended to give you a few seconds grace to reduce your speed and are not intended to allow you to exceed every speed limit. Doing so will get you nicked and the maximum sentence is up to 7 years!

Ah sorry, yes you're right , the S6 comes with radar as standard as you'd expect from Snooper who are radar manufacturers after all! The Origin b2 radar unit is an extra cost option.

I might add that I have seen demo of the S6 and it's not as polished as a b2, I would very much like to compare it's database first though, the b2's database was superb.
