I have just one PGPSW speed camera file in my Garmin folder. It's called pgpsw-speed-cams-uk.zip.
Ash10 downloads it automatically every week (and from it, Ash10 generates copious quantities of .gpx files in my Garmin folder).

If you've got several speed camera files, are some of them old ones which can now be deleted? Or have you been opening up the zip file to explore the contents? (ie a couple of .csv files, a couple of .txt files and an htm file, in my case).

You could try running PoiLoader once again, in case it's had a blip.

Or you could try moving the voice files somewhere else for a while, and running PoiLoader again, to see if it's something to do with the voices (or the size of them) that's causing the problem.

(Missing sox.exe files usually seem to produce an error message in PoiLoader).

Dales.

Yes thanks guys
.
I did have the sox.exe file already.

I think I may have solved the issue now I think I may have been downloading the wrong PGPSW file. POI Loader also seems a little temperamental failing to load files and then working next time without changes.

I assume once a download has been made of the correct file it remembers that for the next download.

I will try the cameras tomorrow, fingers crossed, hopefully all sorted.

Must admit this is a learning experience after being used to TomTom for the last 5 years.

Thanks

You need to let Ash10 do the downloading.

Press Check Now.. under the icon.

If it decides to run, it disappears.

If it does decide it's going to run, it keeps saying not logged on to PGPSW, when it is.

I can't be bothered to use temperamental software.

I've worked out the footages for 15, 20, 25 & 30 second warnings, so I'll input them in POILoader.

Why not try Garmin GPX Converter HERE (opens in a new window).

Click the Software link.

I have always used this, and it works very well Laughing

Thanks for that link, I've downloaded it and I'll give it a whirl.

It seems much more stable & it doesn't disappear and is dead easy to use too! Thumbs Up

Huh. No other reports of it disappearing when run. Must be the software thats faulty if you are the only person with the problem then. Rolling Eyes

Must admit the logged in / not logged in is a known issue with some versions of Windows (Vista and 7 i believe) but the fix is simple if you'd just asked.....

That's true. Ash10 checks on start-up, to see if there's a new PGPSW database to be processed. If there isn't, its taskbar icon disappears, to save clutter. (If you need to access it again, you have to click on the .exe).

There's a note on this in the Ash10 Help file. Login to PGPSW using Internet Explorer (even if you usually use eg Firefox) and do not explicitly logout.

Dales.

I use Win 7 x64 Pro, I use either FireFox or Chrome to login & it logs into this site automatically, so that can't be the problem. I've installed the Garmin thing and it works perfectly.

It is likely to be the problem, as Ash10 uses Internet Explorer to do its work, so you need to have logged in initially via IE (and not logged out afterwards!)

The Ash10 Help file reads as follows:
Camera Manager uses Internet Explorer to manage internet access on its behalf, so that it doesn't need to know your login details for PocketGPSWorld.

This means that in order for Camera Manager to work, you must have logged in to PocketGPSWorld using Internet Explorer - this only needs to be done once, provided that you do not explicitly logout. Note that some internet history/cookie cleaner applications will effectively log you out, so if you are using one make sure that it is configured appropriately.

It doesn't matter if you normally use a different browser to Internet Explorer (eg: Firefox) - once you have logged in to PocketGPSWorld using Internet Explorer, you shouldn't need to touch it again.

Regards, Dales.

That is one piece of software that's virtually never used. IE is a hackers dream.

I only use Chrome, FireFox or very occasionally Safari, all of which are better than IE.

You only have to log in with it. Nothing else. Just don't log out.
