I bet this has been asked before... if so - apologies.

I need to use a different route tha the one my i3 chooses - due to some BIG roadwaorks on the A30 in Cornwall. I really want to go 'via' St Austell or the A390 but can't figure out a way to do this. Anyone know?

Insert your final destination and then select 'start navigating', then select the via point ( by post code or whatever), select 'start navigating' A message will pop up on screen asking if you want to insert this as a via point, select 'Yes' If you select 'No' the point will become the final destination. Note that you can only insert one via point at a time, once you have driven past a via point you can then insert another.
Hope this helps

Thanks. Couldn't find the manual! Can you use a roa? Like selcteing A39 or something? Otherwise I guess I'd have to find something that is sort of on the route.... I need to go via St Austell to Truro but don't know my way round St Autell - otherwise I guess I wouldn't need the i3!!!! :-)

The problem with selecting a road is you are not selecting a point on a map but a long line of points. You can't say to the i3 "I'd like to go via the A2543" etc It really wants a specific point on the planet.

What i do is find a POI in the i3 that will lead me the way i want to go. For example to avoid busy, busy Epsom town centre i set the Race Course as a via and it takes me over the Epsom Downs.

Finally you could use Google Earth, Multi-Map or Street Map to get a co-ordinate of a point on a map, make your own POI for it and add it to your i3.

Glad to have helped.

I keep meaning to make a collection of POIs for my own use of Points in my local area so i can persuade my i3 to use a road i know is often clear as opposed to the "faster" but more congested road. Haven't got round to it yet and still just put up with the "recalculating, recalculating, recalculating" until I'm on route.
