Okay sorry for the really bad pictures. I've packed my Digital Camera ready for a flight next week so had to use my SLVR's camera.

My task was to get the mount into the marked area without any external cable showing when the lid was down. The area is to small to have the TT on a mount all the time sadly.

(Not my Picture)

This is the dashboard disk stuck in the back corner

This is the power socket I added which comes out in the middle of the map pocket

This is the two together

This is the mount in place. The hanging cable is the mic. I normally hook this on the lip of the map pocket when I need it.

and this is the TomTom in place.

Because of the lip on the map pocket it's 100% wobble free Smile And yes my mount does droop when not in here.

I'm really pleased with the result. When I need to use my TT in another car I just take it all out and use as normal. Cable wise it's still a bit packed in there. I'm going to buy another TT power cable and mic and see if I can reduce the length of them down.

Do you need to put the unit in another car sometimes, Carphead?
If not, why not put the cigar lighter socket and the TT power supply behind the dash, and just have the little power plug sticking out of a grommet, for a much neater look?

I do need to put the unit in another car frequently. The problem is that space behind the map pocket quite large. And I'd of had to find a way to fasten them down to stop it (the cables) moving about.

As everything was new I wasn't 100% certain that it would work fine. It's a work in progress. Smile I'm thinking about buying another cable and putting it behind with a grommet but I've got to decide if I want the mic mounted somewhere as well.

Has anyone seen any of these disks in alternative colours.

I have a light grey dashboard and the black disk (which I have but not used yet) would look so obvious when in place.

Ideally a light grey coloured disk or even a clear/transparent one

Painting could be an option but not sure by how much the effectivness of the mount would be reduced.

Has anyone found a good way to keep these discs stuck to the dash? My dash is textured and after a while in the sun the disks eventually come unstuck. The surface was properly cleaned with alcohol before sticking the disk to it.

Terrible waste - maybe you should have drank the alcohol and used glue? Joker

Have a look in places like B&Q as they do a wide variety of sticky fixer type pads. Esp look for decent brands like 3M.
