Just how badly have I screwed up ?

Well I have just done almost the exact same thing, but on the advice here, contacted Garmin, who said they would reprogram the card if I sent it to their freepost address!

Wow! Isn't that just great? I love it that I screw things up and that they sort it all out for me with minimum fuss. What a company.

garmin are excellent. they sent me a nuvi 360

Glad you all got your problems sorted.

And I hope the NEXT THING you will do, if not already is to "Back up" your software.

It's a lot less hassle and cheaper than replacing your SD card.
