Hi Lutz,

Is there any word on the TT6 for PPC, (or for that matter, Navigon version 6) release dates?

I have looked at previous versions of these and researched many others.. and in my opinion, there is nothing to touch these two Sat Nav applications. The new versions are eagerly anticipated.... That was until now.

iGo has appeared and seems to have taken the scene by storm.
A friend of mine has a copy and now swears by it. He's let me dig around and poke at it a bit and I find it extremely configurable. I know its early days yet but it is looking brilliant.

Up to now, it seems you can...
Edit/Create your own voices
Edit/create own announcement phrases (including early roundabout announce)
Edit/Create map colour schemes to best suit your prefs for day and night.

Greatly needed additional functionality...
Proximity alert(s)
Fast and efficient favorites/custom POIs management
Routes management
More additional configuration options (eg turn off animated icons)
Edit/Create own UI (colours/Position etc..)
User definable HW keys .

When these are sorted out.. it will indeed be 'top dog' I'm sure.

I do like Tomtom and Navigon, and I'm sure they are 'due' and will be good when they eventually hit the market. But if I'm making a purchase and they don't shape up, I, like many others will surely opt for iGO instead of waiting for these apps to 'eventually' appear. Which may not be such a bad thing.

Choices, choices... (Oh dear!)

Regards
drogg

(I moved your post since it has nothing to do with the GO SDK)

There is no conceptual difference between TTN5 and TTN6, or MN5 and MN6. Those are mature systems, and they have increasing problems to justify the cost of upgrading (well, you get newer maps).

iGO has the advantage of being new. This advantage will be lost next year.
