What version do I have

I have just bought a 2nd hand Navman jacket with an ipaq, but I don't know what model it is. It says NAVMAN on it so I believe it is more recent than the version saying ipaq Nav system (or similar) on it. The serial number is 2-Y-A-65-3992. Can anyone tell me from that what model it is. It is working well with TomTom2 and an ipaq 3970, but can I upgrade the firmware in it at all to bring it up to date? Thank you

Which software came with it ?

SmartPath City/Trips or SmartST Pro ? If the former, it's definately a Navman 3000 sleeve. If the latter, it maybe a 3400 UK or 3420 US sleeve, or if it has an external antenna socket on the back and on the sleeve it says Smart SE then it's a 3450 sleeve.

The real way is to use WinFast Navigator and connect and check the Rom version out.

You can't upgrade the firmware on these sleeves. In-fact 90% of GPS Receivers although they will accept firmware updates, the manufacturers choose not to let them loose in the general public because firmware updates aren't the easiest thing to do on GPS Receivers, and things can and do go wrong.
