Nuvi 300 antenna position?

Firstly being my first post...a hello to all...

Just a couple of questions I hope someone can answer....

The antenna...(Nuvi 300)


I tend to open & raise the antenna to it's full extent (ie almost vertical). However, in Garmins `car mounting` pics, I see the antenna's position shown horizontal. (90 degrees to the unit)

Is there an optimun position that the antenna should be opened to when in-car? Wanting to get the best signal from the quarterlight as I've a heat-reflective windscreen. (it does work where situated but not owned it long so concerned about built up areas...)

Oh also...was reading about "Ash's" speed cam poi loader for Garmin in this same area..(sticky)....does'nt say where I can download it...I know it's probably right under my nose but am new to this site & on initial search I couldn't find it....a pointer here would also be appreciated....

Don't know about the aerial, as I haven't had my Nuvi long. However, if you look for any of Ash's posts in the aforementioned sticky, a link to download his program is included in his signature.

There was no link/signature in Ashe's post for the download but found it in some of his posts elsewhere so thanks for the lead Sorarse

Thanks MaFt. Had already downloaded it from Ash's signature elsewhere but the link looks handy for poi's etc anyway so cheers for that
