slatermethuen, I have found that 'Search All' works OK as well.

See my reply to your post in the thread http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=42879&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15

You do NOT NEED the postcode to find a place on the i3 at all. I hardly ever use the postcode. I've travelled up and down the country with it and had no problems at all. Industrial estates are a pain but you won't find them in a normal map as they are privately owned (same goes for alot of student halls)

You can't blame a machine for not telling you the number when you haven't got it in the first place! How did you manage 5 years ago??????
Put in house number 1 and when you get there...look!

If it takes ages picking up a signal, check the batteries and make sure it's plugged in aswell. (You may need to switch on the ignition)

The Mini-SD card that it comes with has the data stored on it. If you buy a new card and simply take the old one out and put the new one straight in, it won't have the data on and won't work. (Copy the old data to your computer and then copy it back on to the new card with a card reader)

When i'm doing a delivery the amount of people that tell me they leave in such and such a town and they live near it rather than in it, it's alot easier just say the main city it's near (manchester..etc..) It's purely for user friendly purpose than them being too lazy to make it exactly right.

After using 4 SatNav's (all of them being all-in-ones), this has to be by far the best and easiest to use. It's quick and very accurate, and incredibly cheap!

P.S Anyone know where i can get a free map of france to download (not that i condone such an act). My parents are going to the alps and want to borrow it. (if it will already work in that area of france then bonus)!

I thought we'd already established that! Confused

You don't condone it, but you're prepared to do it! Confused
This sort of discussion is not allowed on the PGPSW forum. Rolling Eyes

There is a simple way to obtain the maps you require for any trip, its called purchase - I appreciate the Garmin maps can cost nearly the same as the device cost in the first place but this is no excuse for requesting what amounts to illegal software piracy, as Anita has pointed out we do not tolerate such discussions on this forum, please refrain from doing so - Mike
