Is there any way to tell the Navman when you are towing a Caravan that you are a large vehicle and to avoid single track roads/low bridges etc...?

Not really, but you can alter the routing parameters to make more use of Major roads. There is a low bridge database kicking about, too which you should be able to use, although it will only warn you f you are going to use a low bridge; I don't think it will automatically route you around it.

perhaps I am setting my ICN 610 Wong or something, but mines seems to like taking me of nice major roads to go along a single track road ...not handy when your towing a caravan.

so you have these settings

routing type..quickest or shortest
motorway ..less often or more often

urban roads ..less or more often

now top two is in the middle

but urban roads ...I am confused with the setting for that ..what is navmans definition of an urban road?

then I have the "avoid unsurfaced roads " option ticked...but that seems to then take me off a perfectly good A road to go along a un-named road and then rejoin the A road further along the route

can someone explain whats the best setting to stay on only A roads

thank you

Try setting the Shortest / quickest to Quickest, the Motorways one to one click off More often and the Urban roads to one click off Less often.

Urban roads are roads in built-up areas, so using them less often will (or should) avoid town centres.
