How did you transfer the Files? Did you Copy the Files, or the Folder?
How many POI have you added? It's been a long time, but I believe there is a limit of 27. Why not upgrade to V5.440? The limit is raised to 39.
If you transferred Files, and you have less than 27 OV2, you will need to use Warn When Near (in Manage POI) to get a warning as you drive.
A little more information would help a lot.;) _________________ Richard

Thanks for your help here. I just down loaded the files and copied them all in to western Europe file, not the folders. Could you detail instructions on how to do it properly from scratch ie which file to download, what to transfer to tt and how ?
How do I upgrade to 5.440 ?
I really appreciate your help here and sorry to be so dumb ! |

Have you done a Full Backup of the 700? If not, now is a good time to do it. Copy everything from the 700 to a Folder on your PC. Especially make sure you have the Maps, as it'ds your only Copy.
Which camera set you download depends on the type of camera warning you want. You can Mix-an-Match any of the TT type downloads.
Have a look at http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=18701
All you need to remember is that TT requires 2 Files for each POI (the OV2 and BMP). These Files always go into the Map Folder. Make a Folder on the PC to contain all the Files that relate to the 700 (call it TomTom) and you'll know where everything is. Unzip the camera download there.
With the 700 connected to the PC, Select the Files, Copy and then Select the Map Folder and Choose Paste.

You can Download from http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/oldboy/TomTomUpdates/ttgo544upd.zip
Unzip and run the installation. Just follow the instructions. _________________ Richard

There are some of the new digital "Monitron" cameras that are COMBINED redlight and speed cameras. There doesn't seem to be any definite decision yet as to which section of the database these go in, so it might be wise to add the redlight file too..

"Temp" are temporary cameras covering roadworks etc. Although they are now logged with their speeds like any other camera, for some reason they are still stored in their own category in the database, so need to be added too.
SPECS look like video cameras on gantries over the road. They are arranged in pairs 100s of yards or even miles apart, and use computers and numberplate recognition to average your speed over the entire section.

Same database, but arranged into seperate sections for each camera type AND speed limit. This means that the on-screen warning and voice prompt (if installed) will tell you what the speed limit should be at that camera position.
You get it in exactly the same place as the other file you downloaded. Once you have entered your satnav system in the first box, the next box allows you to choose the speed zoned set as one of the options. (It will download with exactly the same name, but the .zip archive will contain the different files you need).
You have to install and set up to see and be alerted to each type/speed, in the same way as before, which takes a few more minutes of screen-tapping as there are so many more categories. |
