I brought an 550 and am pleased with it except that the sound is too quiet, I drive a truck so the unit is approx 2-3 feet away, but I am unable to hear it, the sound is just to quiet, please can anybody help... Confused

Have you tried turing it up to maximum? Smile Actually it has a bit of a poor tinny speaker IMO but there's nothing you can do about it. At max I think it distorts the sound too much.

thanks I have tried it always but still no joy, do you know if it has a mono jack for the earphone, I might just try an amplified speaker, Confused

Hi
Go get your self a cheep hands free mobile phone set. I have one and have recommended it to all of our friends that have GPS systems.
It consists of a powered speaker with volume control with an adapter to plug your 12V lead into and a clothes peg type microphone that sits over the speaker of your GPS.
They cost around £5 had my one from a local petrol station. Uses it every day.
