Hello,

I live in the UK and have a PC (running windows xp) built into my car.

I want to add a 'speed camera' detection package, so that my computer can warn me of appraching cameras (ie by showing the alert on my PC screen).

Are there any hardware/software packages that will run on widows xp, and warn of speed cameras?

Thanks

You have map programs like InfoMap Navigator for the PC, but I'm not aware of any applications or add-ons that will give speed camera routing on the PC. You could convert our database to import it say into AutoRoute, but it won't give you alerts.

What about Memory Map Navigator?

It does proximity warnings, so can be used along these lines.

I use it on my pc and also on the IPAQ. I managed to import the pocketgps camera database into Memory Map.
but on the IPAQ when running the GPS, OS maps and the database of all UK cameras it runs so slow it becomes unusable. However its fine on the PC. I have never used it with a GPS but I think it should do exactly what you are after.

Memory-Map for the PC would be fine, but you would then lose Street Navigation, because you won't get two apps talking to the same GPS Receiver.
