I just got this bluetooth receiver from widget.co.uk:
http://www.widget.co.uk/asp/product.asp?recorprod=1&product=627&cat=45&ph=&keywords=&recor=&SearchFor=&PT_ID=
It was a very good price, it arrived swiftly BUT...
It didn't include ANY instructions.
You might think "fair enough, you should know how to use it", however in order to use it one needs to know the pairing code for the receiver. It wasn't included. For someone without any internet access and a bit of sleuthing this receiver would be totally useless as you couldn't even pair it with your PDA.
Eventually I STUMBLED across a review on this site and saw that the receiver looked exactly like the Globalsat BT 308... I went to the Globalsat site and got hold of the manual which fortunately included the pairing code. However I am still disturbed that they are selling something that is completely useless out of the box. |

while this omission is not nice, nowadays most all pairing codes are "0000" - you can always try that first. _________________ Lutz

The code for this was 2003. I hadn't tried 0000, but I think that is still a bit wrong to expect people to know that if it does work. |

you're right, the manual should have been included in the first place.
by the way, our comparison database also has the PIN codes. _________________ Lutz

Not for the Globalsat BT-308. The last 4 in the list don't have them. _________________ Graham.

Perhaps the list needs updating as there is no mention of the new Sirf III Bluetooth receivers. _________________ Graham.
