Safety Speed - What is it?

I promise I have searched the Tomtom forum for an answer to this but to no avail so this newbie would like to know:

What on earth is the Safety Speed function in TomTom2? I thought it would be like the feature you get in Audi's where you select a speed and it warns you when you go over it, but I haven't noticed anything happen when I go over my set max speed of...um....er....60mph

It's been bugging me for ages now!

I belive it's something to do with turning the map off when you go over that speed. It's normally set to 125 mph.

Hi Adam,

When you exceed the safety speed (when in Navigator mode) you should find that the map is hidden and that you get a blue background displaying the all information (i.e. speed, road name/number, etc.) in a larger font.
