I live in the UK and have just bought a Medion MD96800 from Aldi.
Although its a good GPS unit, i have a problem with the clock setting.
It always reads an hour late (eg. 14:00 instead of 15:00).
I have it set to GMT (london etc), and without daylight saving time.
I have tried to set it to different time zones and it makes no difference. I have also changed daylight saving times both on and off, but still no change. I have even tried to sync the time through Activesync, which again has made no difference to it reading an hour late.

Can someone help me, before i return it to the store.

I think the GPS display will always show UTC which is effectively GMT, i.e. an hour behind current British Summer Time. This is received from the satellites, so is pretty accurate and ALWAYS UTC/GMT.

The clock setting for the Navigon Navigator software will be calculated from this and therefore the Navigator software should be set from the SETTINGS/TIMEZONE option and for the UK set it to GMT and YES to adjust for summertime.

When you set a route this will now show the correct time and time of arrival, depending on display options.

Hope that helps,

Niall

You were dead right. It shows UTC all the time, but when you set a trip, the ETA is the correct GMT.
Thanks...
