Hi I bought my model a few years ago and it just says tomtom on it. How do I know what model it is?

There was only one available I think when I got this one, so would it be a classic or a one or what, how can I tell. I want to do some upgrading of the software but I need to be sure of the model first so that I download the right stuff.

The software version shown is version 4.420 if that helps. Can I upgrade that for free? And to what version?

You own a TomTom GO Classic, and it can be upgraded to version 5.440 now and 6.02 later when that becomes available.

You will want to think about upgrading the maps too...

Cheers lbendlin can you give me a link to the download? Also when I go on the actual TOMTOM site it does not show classic in the list of models so I am always unsure what i can download, do they call it something else as well or can I just download the files for another certain model that is practicaly the same?

How do I find the maps to upgrade for mine then? Are they free?

Sorry about all the dumb questions but although I have used quite well for quite a while I am a bit new on the download side of things.
