I have loaded the full postcode database and find that all postcodes now have a default icon (because they are all POIs). So when approaching any postcode there are big blue crosses al over my sceen obliterating all map info

Can't you create your own icons, say a tiny dot, to replace the default one? I'm sure there are other ways of overcoming this problem. What GPS are you using Question What is the full database achieving for you Question Can you now navigate by full 7/8 digit postcode Question Where did the database come from Question
Welcome to the forum - let's have a bit more datail and someone will try to help Wink

Thanks. I travel around the UK so I could do with all postcodes available. I can now navigate to a poi by finding it by the fullpostcode, so that is great. I figured how to turn off the multiple poi display of all postcodes by unticking the enable poi, but when I save it to the SD card, it screws up some of the files - I guess the write speed is too slow. It is 512MB kingston 1.5MB/sec write, so I think I may need a faster card.
Also I would l would like to store more than 25 POI on the card. Is that possible. I know the ICN 510 has a limit of 25 in memory, so I hoped to be able to store say 50 on the card and then enable the ones that I want. I hope that a faster card will enable all of this to happen. Any help would be useful

I think you will find that the 510 only shows 25 but they all should be there Exclamation Just load the 50 (or more up to, I think 99) and they should load OK.
I don't think the speed of the card will help to screw up the 'Save to Device' command. I should try again. A faster card card is unlikely to overcome this - the faster card will, however, give you faster navigation - or shall I say avoid slower instructions.

Thanks. That was very helpful. I was just about to ditch the idea of full postcodes, but I think I am there now.

I am nearly there on this but I could really do with knowing how to alter an icon AFTER it has been loaded through Smart ST2005. Is there any file I can get to on the SD card to alter the icon to smething small.
