I was running tomtom2 with the latest updates for tomtom and the gps driver on my ipaq 2215 (ppc 2003)with a pockey navmate gps cf plus card (rebranded sysonchip cf plus card) I noticed that my ipaq would not boot up unless there was something plugged in to the cf card slot. If the gps card was plugged in then the ipaq switched off and powered on again the gps driver would lock the machine up if activated. I uninstalled the ~GPS
driver and everything is working perfectly again. boots up without a cf card, doesn't need a reset after switch off, so what is the ~GPS driver????
the old one or the new one???
The TomTom ~ GPS driver in REMOVE PROGRAMS was installed from 2.08 onwards. What happens is there is some known Bluetooth problems with TomTom Navigator 2 using Bluetooth Receivers, so what TomTom tried to do was install a fudge driver. It's exactly that. It's resolved a problem where people were having problems powering off the Pocket PC's running WM2003 that were using Bluetooth, so this problem no longer exists, however TomTom have created another problem with this driver.
If you have a Bluetooth Receiver, then you will no longer be able to use it with any other package other than TomTom Navigator 2. Bad move
Now I'm not aware of this driver causing problems with other CF cards, or the boot sequence, but the driver does get loaded on power on, so I can quite easily see how this may be affecting you, although I never witnessed this problem to start with, I very quickly uninstalled this driver to get my Bluetooth back to normality.
